Bruce Reznik Biography |
Bruce Reznik, a California licensed attorney specializing in environmental law, has served as Executive Director of San Diego Coastkeeper since August 1999, where he directs the organization's advocacy and outreach efforts to protect the bays and coastal waters of San Diego County. Under Bruce's direction, Coastkeeper has grown to a full-time staff of seven, making it the largest clean water advocacy organization in the region. During his tenure, Coastkeeper launched its successful Environmental Law & Policy Clinic, its Bi-national Watershed Monitoring Program and its Kelp Restoration and Education efforts.Prior to joining Coastkeeper, Bruce was the Senior Associate at Gladstein & Associates, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm specializing in air quality, alternative fuel and advanced transportation projects. Bruce's efforts expanded the use of electric and natural gas vehicles throughout California.
Bruce serves on the boards of the international Waterkeeper Alliance, California Coastkeeper Alliance, League of Conservation Voters San Diego, United Way and Progressive San Diego. His efforts to safeguard the region’s environment have been recognized by The San Diego Junior Chamber of Commerce, Councilmember Donna Frye and the County of San Diego. Bruce holds a Bachelors' degree in Political Science from the University of California Berkeley, earned his law degree at the University of San Diego School of Law, and completed environmental law coursework at George Washington University. He lives in North Park with his wife, Elizabeth, who is the Executive Director of the North Park Main street Association.
