Amy Denhart Biography |
Amy Denhart is the director of public affairs for Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside Counties where she is responsible for the organization's advocacy and public policy efforts. She returned to the organization in 2001 after having served two years as the San Diego area director for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. Amy's first job out of college was as public affairs assistant at the local Planned Parenthood, where she was quickly promoted to coordinator of the department. A lover of all things political, Amy has also served as president of the National Women's Political Caucus of San Diego, board member of the League of Conservation Voters and a founding member of the Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century.
Amy earned her master degree of international public policy from the University of California at San Diego School of International Relations and Pacific Studies in 1998, and her bachelor of arts in Chinese Language & Literature from George Washington University in 1993.
Amy and her husband, Peter, are the proud parents of two daughters, Eleanor and Margaret.
