Bill Collins Biography |
Bill Collins has been active in environmental politics since 1967. He is a founding Board member of the CLCV, where he served as treasurer. In 1972, he collected signatures to qualify Prop. 20 for the ballot.
Collins has worked on the campaigns of Lucy Killea, Dede Alpert, Susan Davis, Howard Wayne, Donna Frye, Bob Filner, Francine Busby, and Lorena Gonzalez, among many others elsewhere.
As Chair of the Sierra Club's Northern California Wildlife committee, during the 1970s, he introduced more wildlife conservation legislation than anyone during the decade.
He has worked for several members of the state legislature and was a lobbyist for the California Teachers Association for 19 years.
Collins is a member of the Surfrider Foundation, Center for Biological Diversity, NAACP, Save San Francisco Bay Association, the San Diego Democratic Club and the Pacific Beach Democratic Club.
