LCVSD Local Environmental Issues of Concern

Air Quality

Industry, traffic, ship, and airport emissions create elevated risks for cancer and potential damage to the reproductive, central nervous, immune and digestive systems.

California must demand that air quality regulations are followed and the release of toxic contaminants is reduced.

Possible Solutions

  • Work with elected officials to ensure strict enforcement of air quality laws and the reduction of toxic air contaminants released by industry.
  • Support diversification of the Air Pollution Control District Board to ensure protection of community health and clean air.
  • Require permanent air pollution monitoring stations in San Diego's most impacted communities.
